Oh to be…
Oh to be a Gooner!!!!
Absolutely amazing week to be a Gooner. On the pitch, we continue to pile up favorable results and the team really seems to be hitting its stride. Against Watford, we saw a solid league performance on the road. A first half that saw us look a little sluggish was quickly replaced by a dominant Arsenal performance in the second. Our front three of Theo/Alexis/Ozil continually sliced apart the Watford defense and our back four looked as solid as ever. Especially in front of another great Petr Cech performance. Also, it was good to see Ramsey get a league goal to shake that monkey off his back. Anytime you get 3 points on the road in the league is a good thing. When its chased down by a good performance it's a great thing.
Midweek saw the most inform team in the world roll into London. With our backs against the wall and expectations low, The Arsenal put in the performance of the season. The match fully highlighted our new-found flexibility and tactics. No longer are we the team that lives and dies with possession. Bayern almost doubled our possession but tasted the same defeat we, as Arsenal fans, have stomached way too often. Content with absorbing pressure and hitting them on the break, Arsene's tactics were brilliant. The only low light will be the loss of Ramsey. Is this a springboard for greater things in Europe? Who knows? All I care about is that we finally did the business against a world class opponent in North London.
We are smack dab in the middle of Pub Swap 2015. If you were at George's this past weekend then you were privy to an amazing time. The only thing better than the result was the gathering of Gooners at George's. Close to 3/4 of a hundred of us ate, drank, and sang together. About 25 from OKC made the journey up the Turner. If you weren't there you missed it. Lucky for you there's a mulligan this weekend. Now it's Tulsa Time in OKC. Gather your $8 for toll and whatever beer money you need and head to Slim's in Bricktown. The Arsenal America banner will be making its first appearance in our great state. If you're in OKC then you for sure need to come out and meet some of the Tulsa guys. Tulsa guys…if you haven't been to Slim's there's no better time than now. There's a caravan leaving Tulsa so if you need a ride or can offer a ride let us know in the Facebook group. It's going be a great time.
As always we've got a bunch of great stuff going on. Scarves are in production as I type. Be sure to check out our youTube channel for the great videos Scott has been putting out. You can find our Sooner Goonercast in iTunes or on the website for your listening pleasure. Lots of ways to catch up with us and get involved.
I'll plug this now to start. Our next big event will be the North London Derby on November 8th. Both pubs will be open and you will be able to pick up the new scarves there.
See you guys at the pubs!!!
