Well...that's it. Our league campaign has come to an end. Emphatically I might add. Four goals will silence all of the chicken littles in our fan base. A cursory glance over the last week would lead one to believe that the team would never score again. Good on Theo and Jack to remind us of the quality we have. With that being said, we take a look back at this campaign.
We've definitely seen some ups and downs typical of any side. Sometimes the Arsenal do it with a bit more flair. We started out a little short of some first teamers with the World Cup ending and what not. We found ourselves a bit behind the eight ball you could say. Points dropped early came back to haunt us late. The Chavs started out immaculately and rode that to a title.
As the year went on I don't think any of us can say we didn't improve. Arguably we "won" the second half but unfortunately there's no cup to lift for that. What is to be found is a lot of encouragement. It's not like we went on some fluky run to improve our overall position in the league. We found balance and really grew as a team. We didn't finish too far behind Citeh and their bazillion dollar payroll. We have something solid to build on. Over these next few weeks I'll take a deeper look at the squad overall and individually.
Which brings us to Saturday. WHAT DID SHE WEAR???? We find ourselves with a chance to defend our FA Cup. Villa travels to the capital from Birmingham looking to salvage their season. We will be looking to add to the silverware cabinet. A win would certainly make this season a bit sweeter. For me, third and another FA Cup makes a successful season. I want more. We all do. And we should. I really do feel that we are heading in the right direction. Of course we need to strengthen and sort out a few personnel things but that's all for this summer.
Saturday is about one thing...the Arsenal at Wembley. And for us Sooner Gooners there's only one of two places you need to be. If you're in the OKC area you need to be at Skinny Slim's in Bricktown. If in the Tulsa area George's Pub in Jenks is where the party will be. Grab your yellow and get to the pubs! Hit the website for more info. Join us as we watch the famous Arsenal lift the FA Cup for a record twelfth time.
